Forgiving Others

Forgiving Others: Ephesians 4:32 NLT “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” You're walking down your school hallway and suddenly someone calls you a mean name. It can be easy to say something mean back and hold a grudge against the person, but it takes a strong, courageous, and loving kind of person to forgive. Jesus paid the price for our sin. Even though we didn’t deserve it, he still chose to forgive each and every one of us. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32 that we need to forgive others just how Jesus has forgiven us. He didn’t have to. It was going to cost him a lot, but he decided to anyway. Forgiving ot

Sharing: Hebrews 13:16 NLT “And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” You have a full plate of chocolate chip cookies in front of you. You’ve been looking forward to this moment all day. You finally get to eat them and taste the soft, chewy, chocolaty goodness. Suddenly, someone politely asks you if they can have one. What do you do? Sharing can be really hard, but it’s something that God wants us to put into practice. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 13:16 that we should do good and share. Sometimes sharing can be a big sacrifice, but in the end it has a huge reward. As followers of Jesus it is our job to please him with our lives,

Obedience: 1 John 5:3 NLT “Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.” O-B-E-D-I-E-N-C-E: That’s a pretty long word. It’s also something that isn’t always easy to do. But why do we have to do it? God tells all of us to obey him. He wants what is best for us. He cares for us. He made rules to keep us safe and happy. The Bible tells us in 1 John 5:3 that if we love God we will obey him. Do you love God? I don’t know about you, but I love God. I want to live every single day pleasing him. We show him that we love him when we obey. He loves to see us enjoy life and follow his instructions. He has a whole book called the Bible with these instructions. Bein

Worship: Romans 12:1 NLT “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” What’s your favorite worship song? The drums are kickin’. The beat is rockin’. That guitar solo is out of this world. You clap, shout, jump, sing your heart out, but Worship is more than just music and a microphone. Worship is a way of living. God made us to worship. Worship is about giving God the glory simply for being who he is. When we worship him we are telling God that we love him and that he is the most important thing in our lives. It
